SEA BUCKTHORN FEMALE HERGO AB - PLANT
Hippophae rhamnoides Hergo
The female Sea Buckthorn 'Hergo' is a vigorous, thorny shrub, known for its bright orange berries, rich in vitamin C. Its narrow, silvery leaves add a decorative touch. It flowers from April to May, and its tart berries, which persist until winter, are harvested from October to February.
Nitrogen fixer, sea buckthorn prefers poor and dry soils but fears heavy and poorly drained soils. This plant appreciates full sun and does not tolerate shade. Succulent, it has a creeping root system that can extend over several meters. Unpruned, it can reach 5 to 7 meters in height. For good fruiting, a male foot is necessary nearby. Perfect for defensive hedges and natural gardens, it adapts to cold climates and infertile soils.
