The Bigno blackcurrant is a variety highly valued for its productivity and the quality of its fruit. This vigorous bush reaches about 1.5 to 2 m in height and produces an abundance of dense black berries, with a rich and slightly acidic flavor. These large fruits, particularly rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, are excellent for making jams, juices or liqueurs. The berries ripen from late June to early July, guaranteeing a generous harvest.
Adapted to various types of soil, the Bigno blackcurrant prefers exposure in full sun or partial shade. Low maintenance and very hardy, it is ideal for productive and unrestricted gardens.
