Marigold or calendula is an edible, medicinal and repellent annual plant that measures 50 cm in height. Its bright orange flowers appear from April to winter depending on the region. Young flowers are eaten in salads, jams, the petals can be used as food coloring for butter, syrups or rice. A remarkable companion plant, marigold keeps whiteflies and aphids away. As a medicinal plant, marigold is a healing plant par excellence, with anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous and antibacterial properties. The flowers are edible.
