Andega is a mid-season blackcurrant variety known for its exceptional taste quality. This variety stands out as resistant to powdery mildew and self-fertile. It plays an important role as a pollinator of the traditional "Noir de Bourgogne" variety. Easy to grow, Andega adapts to a wide variety of soils, provided they are not too wet. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded exposure in warm regions and needs cold in winter to ensure abundant flowering and fruiting. Very hardy and not very demanding in water, a simple mulch is enough to make it self-sufficient in most French regions. The leaves, whether fresh or dried, are prized in herbal tea for their digestive properties. Its fruits are an excellent source of vitamin C, antioxidants and pectin, perfect for making tasty jams, juices and liqueurs.
