CHICOREE FRISEE GROSSE PANCALIERE AB
Cichorium endivia var. crispum
Chicory can be eaten simply as a salad mix or with small pieces of bacon and poached eggs. Curly endive produces a large head and grows quickly. Although it can grow in any type of soil, it prefers humus-rich soil.
Sowing
You can start sowing seeds in May and spread them out until July. It's important that the temperature is high during germination to ensure rapid germination. Three weeks after germination, you can transplant them. Allow 30 cm of spacing in the row and 40 cm between rows. Remember to water regularly.
Harvest
Harvesting takes place between October and December. To blanch the chicories and reduce their bitterness, place an opaque cloche or earthenware pot over them 15 days before harvesting.
