CAPE PURPLE BROCCOLI CABBAGE AB
Brassica oleracea var. italica
An old, very late variety, producing a beautiful purple head accompanied by shoots, whose flavor is somewhere between cauliflower and traditional broccoli. It is ideal for summer sowing and spring harvesting, especially in regions with a rather mild climate or those that need protection from the cold.
Its purple color becomes more pronounced with the winter cold and will be preserved by gentle cooking (steaming).
Sowing
Light sowing in the nursery from June to July.
Planting
In August, transplant into fertile, deep, fresh soil in a sunny location, when the plants have 4 to 5 leaves, 40-50 cm from the row, in rows spaced 80 cm apart.
Frequent watering.
Harvest
Harvest from January to February.
The cycle is 220 days after planting.
