RASPBERRY MEEKER AB - PLANT
Rubus idaeus
The 'Meeker' raspberry plant is distinguished by its mid-season maturity. It produces generous, round, bright red, firm fruits with a sweet taste. This variety, well adapted to the production of fresh fruit, is not suitable for high-altitude regions. Its canes, which are vine-like and thorny, produce abundant suckers, requiring trellising for better support.
The raspberry plant prefers well-drained soils, rich in organic matter and slightly acidic. It thrives in part-sun exposure.
Its fruits can be eaten fresh or made into jam, jelly, syrup, coulis or sorbet.
