The variety 'Jonkheer Van Tets' is distinguished by its precocity and vigour, thus promising high productivity in optimal conditions. Its fruits, of good size, have a tangy taste. This variety has particular requirements in terms of cold, which makes it poorly suited to regions with mild winters. In addition, its sensitivity to powdery mildew becomes a factor to take into account. It thrives in neutral to slightly acidic soils, rich in organic matter. It flourishes in direct sunlight or partial shade, but absolutely requires winter frosts to bear fruit, which excludes planting in coastal areas.
Its fruits are appreciated both for fresh consumption and for their various transformations.
