BLUECROP AB SHRUB BLUEBERRY - PLANT
Vaccinium corymbosum
This medium-sized, upright shrub is distinguished by its vigor and production capacity. Its medium-sized fruits are blue and rounded, with a tangy flavor and a rather discreet aroma. The harvest extends over a period of three to four weeks in July. The leaves, narrow and dark green, turn a red-orange hue in the fall before the leaves fall.
Known for its drought resistance compared to other varieties, Bluecrop also has good tolerance to rain, with the fruits not cracking in the humidity.
Blueberries, like Bluecrop, require acidic soil. Mulching is also recommended to keep the soil cool in summer. Daily watering, but in small quantities, is crucial for the success of the crop. Blueberries need sufficient sunlight to bear fruit: planted in the shade, they grow but do not produce fruit.
Bluecrop berries are versatile, ideal both fresh and processed, and retain excellent quality after freezing.
