BLUEBERRY PATRIOT AB - PLANT
Vaccinium corymbosum
This vigorous bush is distinguished by its compact shape and attractive bearing, while offering great resistance to cold and diseases. It flowers early, from the beginning of May, and produces clusters of dark blue blueberries, composed of enormous and firm berries, with a rich and rustic taste, between the end of June and the end of July.
The plant requires the presence of a congener to fruit and is adorned with bright orange foliage in the fall, before the leaves fall. Adapted to well-drained heather soils, it prefers acidic soils, enriched with organic matter for good water retention.
The blueberry bush likes sunshine for good fruiting. Planted in the shade, it will not produce fruit. Ripe blueberries have a pleasant tangy taste, keep well and are ideal both fresh and for processing, for jams, pies or drying.
