WILD ROCKET AB
Diplotaxis tenuifolia
Wild arugula has smaller leaves and grows more slowly than cultivated arugula.
Another difference is that its flavor is more pronounced and more peppery than its cousin.
How to successfully sow wild rocket
Sowing: from March to September, directly in place, in rows spaced 25 to 30 cm apart.
Lightly cover the seeds and water. Thin to 7/8 cm in the row.
Cultivating wild arugula
Quite sensitive to the cold, wild rocket must have developed its root system to withstand a harsh winter.
Wild rocket is discreet during the winter but will start growing again in the spring and remain in place for several years.
Remove flowers as soon as they appear to encourage new leaf growth.
In mid-August, you can cut back a good third of the stump to stimulate new growth in the fall.
If spring and summer are dry, we recommend watering wild arugula, as it appreciates moderate temperatures and humidity.
Harvest
Harvest as needed, preferably in the morning.
